I’m grateful to all of the teachers, coaches, bosses and mentors that revealed more of myself to me. In the picture below Coach Larry surprised me with the “hard hat” award in recognition of what he called my “determination to attack the hard goals.” He helped me recognize in myself a unique willingness to work hard.
THE BUSINESS OF SOCIAL CHANGE
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities are important to me. It’s been my privilege to coach Easterseals Miracle League of Michigan baseball for 10+ years. I’ve leveraged my business fraternity platform to promote the important work of Mi Work Matters and their inclusive coffee shop, Anastasia and Katie’s. Most recently I helped launch the social enterprise Worthy Turtle, an encouraging company that does motivational speaking and apparel with the help of a special needs workforce.
